Spotlight on Community Outreach

Updated: Oct 14, 2019

"Life's most persistent and urgent question is: "What are you doing for others?"

- Martin Luther King, Kr.

On Tuesday, October 8th, the Little Explorers program (a learning experience for 2-year-olds), learned about fire safety with firefighters from the Highland Hose Volunteer Fire Department. The goal was to help the children feel safe in the presence of firefighters in an emergency situation, as well as to teach basic fire safety. The children loved exploring the fire truck, and earning their honorary hats and badges. Afterwards, The Collaborative Community Mission (CCM) proudly presented a sensory-friendly bag for individuals with special needs to the fire department. CCM has an initiative to educate emergency personnel on understanding and awareness when helping individuals with special needs in an emergency situation. Please contact us if your group is interested in scheduling a presentation, or learning more: collabcomm.mission@gmail.com
